    The Assistant Manager of Field Communications & Training uses their writing skills and creativity to develop effective, comprehensive communication and training strategies for our field management team and stores.  This includes developing communication plans for long-term projects, creating instructional tools, contributing to weekly and monthly field newsletters, and maintaining field policies and procedures. This position assists in maintaining the communications project calendar and acts as an editor for the Field Communications Coordinator.


    The Assistant Manager of Field Communications supports a wide range of projects while upholding a consistent voice that reflects our brand and adapts to suit the changing needs of the field and retail industry. Responsible for developing and updating content for the field, the Assistant Manager of Field Communications must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality of work.


    • Developing, writing, and editing field communications (memos, training materials, newsletters, policies) that represent the culture of the company, and can be executed efficiently by the appropriate end-user.
    • Creatively designing and laying out communications so that they are organized, easy-to-read, and visually appealing.
    • Being a close partner and advocate for the field team and liaising with internal partners on field needs and opportunities.
    • Collaborating with other departments, and with individuals at all levels of the business, on various projects, gaining a broad understanding of the business.
    • Determining communication plan and appropriate timeline for company initiatives, in partnership with the Senior Manager and Director of Field Communications.
    • Troubleshooting and testing new field initiatives to determine best processes for full-field implementation.
    • Participating in the planning and execution of field recognition programs (including contests and yearly performance awards).
    • Acting as coordinator and content creator for field meetings and virtual trainings.
    • Maintaining the communications project calendar and ensuring department is on track of all assignments and meeting deadlines.
    • Proofreading and editing all content drafted by the field communications team and Home Office partners.
    • Performing additional duties as assigned.


    • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or a related field.
    • An individual seeking a career in corporate, employee, or internal communications.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Prior writing experience.
    • Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail.
    • A self-starter with strong time management, planning, prioritization, and project management skills.
    • Ability to follow directions, adapt quickly to change, multi-task, and problem solve.
    • Ability to communicate with team members and departments at all levels.
    • Desire to learn, develop, and grow the position beyond its core responsibilities.
    • Enthusiasm to learn about all aspects of the business and retail industry.
    • 2+ years of experience in corporate communications (may consider hiring candidates with less experience at a Coordinator level position).
    • Ability to have a flexible schedule as needed.
    • Computer Skills: MS Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel. Knowledge of InDesign is preferred.
    • Candidates must be able to submit a writing sample.
