  • Overview

    The Vice President of Stores will lead the field sales organization for our approximately 1,150 retail locations in the United States and Canada and the corporate store operations team that supports them. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational, experienced retail stores professional with the demonstrated ability to successfully lead a dynamic, multi-brand organization through superior talent management and consistent execution of exceptional client service. The individual  will be responsible for all aspects of store operations, driving retail sales results, effective payroll management, leading the traffic metrics program, communication and project management.

    Responsibilities

    • Build a strong field team of talented retail professionals that drive comp store sales and profitability by providing leadership and direction to future leaders of the business at all levels. Ensure top talent is identified and developed.

     

    • Lead and shape the retail business strategies to achieve budgeted sales plans, payroll, and operating expenses in all brands and store formats.

     

    • Provide vision, strategic leadership and operating direction that drives to store best practices and consistently delivers superior client service.

     

    • Align teams to achieve organizational goals by communicating an inspirational vision, demonstrating an understanding of the products, assortments, trends and the needs of the client.

     

    • Provide strategy, leadership, and oversight of all operational, payroll, compliance, maintence and marketing intiatives that touch the client in-store, serving as the liason and “voice of the customer” between the corporate and field organizations.

     

    • Partner with web and e-commerce leaders to create and foster an omni-channel approach to the client experience in stores to drives total sales

     

    • Manage and drive sales and operational efficiency through the traffic metrics program.

     

    • Provide in-depth knowledge of women’s apparel business, retail industry, competitive landscape and online retail experience in a multi-brand environment.

     

    • Provide competitive real estate perspective and knowledge to contribute to the Company’s real estate portfolio strategy.

     

    • Partner with merchant, creative services/marketing, finance and human resources teams to realize an optimal client experience and ensure the execution of our brand initiatives.

     

    • Ability to travel at least 40%.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 12 years of experience leading an operations and field sales organization.
    • Proven track record of success in building a strong, client centric store experience and driving comp stores sales in a specialty retail environment.
    • Significant experience in a consumer-focused, women’s fashion retail business.
    • Knows how to drive sales.
    • Possess strong business acumen
    • Create internal and external partnerships that consistently achieve win/win results for the Company.
    • Exceptional financial and analytical acumen, including experience with budgeting, P&L management and ROI measurement.
    • Highly adept at multi-tasking, setting priorities and being flexible with change.
    • Proactive and positive “can-do” attitude. Team player.
    • Hands-on leadership style, able to lead by example. A leader who can motivate others with his/her vision.
    • Impeccable integrity.
    • Ability to organize and marshal resources, leading the field team to implement company initiatives with the ultimate goal of consistent exceptional client service.
    • Ability to communication at all levels of the organization to achieve a common goal.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in retail operations.
    • Strong negotiating and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of traffic metrics system, store operating systems, inventory, product and trends.

     

    The Candidate

     

    The selected candidate will be/have:

     

    • Demonstrated success in leading a significant multi-brand field organization.
    • Experience in specialty retail, department store experience a plus.
    • Proven executive management experience with the ability to be extremely effective and timely in a fast-paced work environment.
    • A high degree of credibility, highly collaborative management style, and the ability to forge effective relationships across all levels with a variety of people.
    • A proven ability to develop, coach, motivate and inspire a team that embraces accountability and achieves or exceeds planned results.
