The Chief Information Officer is responsible for providing the vision and leadership for developing, implementing and operating all IT Systems. The CIO is accountable for all operating and capital budget commitments, including the development and maintenance of a multi-year technology strategy which is aligned to the businesses strategic plans. The CIO needs to balance risk and time to market with evaluating and prioritizing IT initiatives.


  • Implement methods and standards that improve the speed and accuracy of IT delivery and are aligned with trends in the industry.
  • Work with leadership to develop tools and techniques for quality assessment, performance metrics.
  • Ensure production systems are operated in accordance with performance objectives, and that services are well measured.
  • Ensure all reasonable efforts are taken to protect the company’s information from cyber security threats and that the company’s executives are kept informed as to threats and trends in this area.
  • Provide strategic and tactical vision and leadership for the organization in all aspects of Information Technology.
  • Assist Senior Executives in identifying new areas for technology improvement resulting in operational efficiencies and increased productivity.
  • Develop, maintain and manage an information systems strategic plan that establishes financial, quality and operating objectives and monitors IT performance metrics, best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation governing the use and collection of information and software copyright issues.
  • Lead and develop the IT Team.
  • Manage the IT portfolio process (including budgeting and forecasting of both capital and expense).


  • 10+ years’ management experience with proven experience in strategic planning and execution, and demonstrated ability to apply IT to business problems and opportunities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or similar)
  • MBA or Masters Equivalent in business, computer science, management, engineering, or related field of study is required
  • Senior-Level IT management experience as a CIO in a retail setting with extensive HIPAA compliance knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of vendor systems
  • Previous leadership of system implementations and post go-live enhancement
  • Proven record of accurately estimating timeframes and meeting projected deadlines and budgets
  • 10+ years’ management experience with proven experience in strategic planning and execution, and demonstrated ability to apply IT to business problems and opportunities
  • Proven experience in researching, evaluating, negotiating, and managing third-party service providers
  • Strong business acumen, including understanding of key business drivers for performance and growth, and the use of sound business practices
  • Strong creative, analytical and logical problem solving skills; detail-oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills, sound judgment, initiative and drive, flexibility, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
